Contracts Manager / Civil Contracting - Middle East
Develop and administer contract documents for mechanical and civil/marine projects from tender process through to contract close out and ensure company contractual and commercial exposure is controlled and dealt in a professional and timely manner.
Review tender documents for technical, commercial and legal conditions and advise Estimation Division for cost mitigation and incorporation into their bid proposals for clients.
Manage and secure project interest with necessary bonds, warranties, insurances and undertakings and maintain property and workmen’s compensation insurances.
Assist the Procurement Department in the appointment of Sub-Contractors by ensuring that all terms and conditions relevant to the Main Contract are adequately addressed in the Sub-Contract
Provide commercial management support as required in the event of a potential dispute and ensure a full audit trail exists for contract execution and administration.
Provide management data and reports on the progress of works including identification of contractual and commercial issues, as well as implement early warning systems.
Degree in B.Sc. QS / Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying
7 – 10 years experience in contract management/administration, including at least 5 years in Engineering and/or Construction sectors and preferably with a contracting company rather than a consultancy.
Experience of Joint Ventures / Consortiums would be advantageous.
Middle East experience preferred
Membership of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) would be an advantage but not critical.
Membership of Royal Institute of Arbitrators would be an advantage but not critical.
