Site Agent - Pavement Team - £4 Billion Project
Our client is one of the largest specialist civil engineering contractors in the UK and also a major name worldwide.
They have an exciting opportunity for a Site Agent with Pavement/PQ concrete experience. The role will be working over a 36km stretch of this major project in the Hertfordshire region.
Requirements;
Our client is seeking an Agent from a technical civil engineering background and with extensive experience of major pavement construction on large scale new build or motorway widening schemes.
This is a highly challenging role from a technical, logistics and programme perspective and the successful candidate will have proven ability at Agent level or above on similar projects. Candidates will be able to demonstrate previous successful involvement in pavement construction above sub-base level including Flexible/Flexible composite construction. In addition, previous experience of pavement quality concrete would be a distinct advantage. Previous knowledge and experience working for a main civil engineering contractor or pavement subcontractor is essential. Full commitment is needed to our "zero harm" policy in delivering a first class quality project to an intensive project programme.
Responsibilities
Engineering Control * Ensures that sufficient and competent resources are allocated to the Section. Quality * Sets targets and KPI's in line with Project objectives and monitors performance * Ensures site audits are undertaken and takes appropriate action on the findings * Takes a lead on improvement options and takes the necessary action to deliver * Follows Joint Venture systems and processes Health Safety + Environmental * Leads by example * Carries out periodic Safety + Environment Tours as required by the Project H + S Plan) * Appraises improvement options and leads action / instigates as appropriate * Leads periodic risk reviews and takes output forward to the Project Risk Register * Monitors effectiveness of the H + S management System * Keeps up to date with changes in legislation and cascades information to the team Productivity * Sets targets and KPI's in line with key outputs and monitors performance * Motivated to meet the project programme without compromising quality and safety * Manages sub-contractor performance based on KPI's Commercial * Sets targets and KPI's in line with budget forecast * Chairs weekly cost meetings and identifies improvement areas and allocates appropriate actions to team members * Prepares a cost plan and manages cost value * Involved in the procurement of subcontractors and advises on practical aspects of the subcontract.
