Job Description
Principal Responsibilities:
* Responsible for overall project management including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up / commissioning and contract closeout
* Ensure that the project is appropriately resourced
* Prepare and supervise budgets and schedules, monitor progress and initiate action to assure schedules are met and work is performed within budget
* Manage the Client's business interests, to include the prime contract, revenues, receivables, project viability and profitability
* Manage the project to meet the Owner's objectives and expectations
* Maintain communications with key stakeholders and keep them up to date on project progress
* Actively promote behaviour aligned to the Client's goal of achieving a Total Safety Culture.
* Ensure quality checks are undertaken and documented
Requirements
* A bachelor's degree in engineering
* 5 years of experience in project management in heavy industry.
* Supervisory experience is required
* Experience in mining and metals or energy would be an asset
* Experience in managing multi-disciplined projects
* Knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction and other project-related activities
* Well developed written and oral communication / negotiation skills
* Experience in managing large projects would be an asset
