Senior Quantity Surveyor - Water

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description:

A leading UK civil engineering contractor requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor for their Edinburgh contracts. The role will be site based and may involve some travel around the region. Typical projects are water works for both the local authorities and private clients ranging between £3M - £30M under various forms of contract.


Senior Quantity Surveyor - Duties:

Full cradle to grave account management of a wide variety of sub-contracts, including bespoke packages
Able to lead Client negotiation on commercial and contractual matters
Compilation of CV and forecast reports on the performance of contracts
Compile, submit and agree the varied financial effects of variations, including identifying and developing submissions for the financial effects of prolongation and disruption issues
Capable of handling all the commercial and contractual aspects of a single contract (or group of contracts) of typically £1m turnover a month or up to the value of £15m
Ensure accurate record keeping is maintained by the site team
To take an interest in and assist in all aspects of the project and lead commercial matters
Compile, submit, substantiate and agree main account final accounts


Senior Quantity Surveyor – Experience Required:

A Degree in quantity surveying or degree equivalent from the UK or an internationally recognised university is required.
Quantity surveying experience within major contractors
Previous water works experience is essential

The company is a leading UK civil engineering contractor, typically working on projects between £1M - £75M including roads, bridges, coastal works and water projects amongst others. They have an annual turnover of approximately £300M and offices in many parts of the UK. Their involvement in projects extends from feasibility through to construction and maintenance; they currently have work on individual projects as well as long term frameworks agreements.
