Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing MEP Quantity Surveyor
M&E Quantity Surveying role involving work on a major airport project in Dubai performing post contract duties to check the MEP contractor's work.

Mechanical and Electrical (MEP) Construction Projects Portfolio
This company has an enviable portfolio of building, civil engineering and mechanical/electrical/plumbing work in Dubai, and is working on both publicised and confidential projects in Dubai for developers, contractors, private clients and the governments of Dubai and Sharjah. These include works on a number of major Middle East airports.
The Scope/Duties of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Cost/Quantity Surveying Role on Dubai Projects
The scope of the role for the mechanical and electrical cost manager/quantity surveyor role will include: -
Management of other members of staff, both Quantity Surveyors and Measurement Technicians
MEP post contract duties, either site or office based
Review the Preparation of cost plans relating to MEP works
Managing the process of Agreement of MEP final accounts
Tender evaluation & assessment
Assistance with the negotiation of contracts
Preparing and presenting cash flow & cost management advice to clients
Interpreting and offering advice on MEP contracts
Ensuring contractual notices and client entitlements relating to Mechanical/electrical/plumbing contracts are properly administered
Preparation of recommendations for award of MEP contracts
Managing the process of Measuring & valuing variations
Preparation of contractor's payment recommendations
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical installations required
Attending meetings with clients and contractors
Specific Mechanical & Electrical Skills & Experience Required of the Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) Quantity Surveyor
Experience of major mechanical & electrical projects in the UK or to international standards relating to industrial/heavy electrical or building projects (housing experience would not be suitable)
Experience of working for a well recognised mechanical and electrical (M&E) company
In depth experience of air conditioning or district cooling desirable
A Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent from a UK or internationally recognised university is essential
Extensive post graduate experience is required to allow independent working & the guidance of junior staff
Achievement of, or your advanced progression towards MRICS, MInstCES or MCIOB or equivalent qualification is highly desirable
Demonstrable experience on your CV of your ability to perform unassisted a number of the quantity surveying duties listed above
Experience of managing junior and other quantity surveying staff and of taking full responsibility for project progress and completion
Experience of a Senior Quantity Surveying role on £10M+ projects in the UK or larger is desirable to assist swift integration into the massive projects & associated methods of working in Dubai
IT proficient with extensive exposure to spreadsheets
